Run by dedicated husband and wife Lee & Suzy, The Devil’s Stone Inn is the perfect place to gather to eat, drink and be merry. Located in the picturesque Devonshire village of Shebbear, The Devil’s Stone Inn is a traditional coaching inn with more than 400 years of history steeped within its walls. Taking its name from the famous Devil’s Stone which lies on the church grounds just across the village square, this dog-friendly pub has been a hub of the community for many generations.
The inn has been lovingly restored, providing you with the creature comforts of home while losing none of the wonderful character and history of the building. We have 5 ensuite guest rooms, a games room and a large, beautiful beer garden that’s open all year round. Our talented kitchen staff serve up a variety of delicious pub fayre for both afternoon and evening meals (see food service times), which can be enjoyed fireside in the bar or in our dedicated dining room.
We regularly hold events at The Devil’s Stone Inn including live music, quiz nights, karaoke and darts tournaments. Both visitors and locals are more than welcome to come to these nights, either to join in or just to have fun watching!

We can even provide Devonshire Afternoon Tea upon request. Meals can be enjoyed year round in our historical dining room or in our beautiful beer garden.
